How do I contact Rent a Date for Charity?

To contact RDC please email admin@rentadateforcharity.com all emails will be responded to within 48 hours of receipt.  Alternatively you may contact our office by calling 020 8368 0486 during opening times Monday – Friday 9am – 5.30pm.

How much of my money is going to the designated charity?

All profits made through the site will go directly to charity. Profits are designated throughout the charities specified on the Charities/Events Page on a yearly basis at RDC's sole discretion.

In the case of Celebrity Auctions, 75% of the NET Bid will go to the designated charity immediately after payment is received. Please refer to the terms & conditions for further information.

How can I find out how much has been raised for the designated charity?

RDC will keep the amounts raised on their webpage pages and on the http://www.rentadateforcharity.com/charities.html however you may check through to the designated charities websites for further clarification and confirmation.

Why am I being asked to pay a subscription fee?

At present due to the re-launch and for a limited time only our subscription fee is free.  However this may change from time to time.  Normal cost for becoming a candidate is £5.00 which allows access to our auctions and to becoming a candidate indefinitely. You will be notified both on the main website and on the registration form should this change take effect.

I don’t want to subscribe as a member but I want to donate some money to one or all of the designated charities how do I go about doing this?

To make a donation only please go to http://www.rentadateforcharity.com/charities.html page and select the charity you wish to donate to. On that page you will find a justgiving widget where you can donate online and this donation will go against Lisa's £1million target.

Is there a minimum age you have to be to join?

Yes.  You have to be 18+ to join the site.

How do I terminate my account?
You are entitled to terminate your subscription to this Website at any time on no less than one months’ notice to support@rentadateforcharity.com however you should be aware that if you are participating in any Auction which continues after the date on which your subscription expires your rights to participate as a Bidder or as a Candidate will automatically cease.

I have just tried to register and my registration has been declined?

RDC reserves the right to decline to register you as a User and / or as a Candidate at its sole discretion.  RDC’s decision to accept an individual registration is final.

Who is responsible for arranging the date?

RDC is not responsible for any of the date arrangements.  The winning bidder is required to email the candidate with his/her proposals for the date.  These proposals should include things such as location, restaurant name and time/date to meet.  Even if the candidate cannot do these specific times and arrangements you will have a basis in which to organise your date.

I have a question for the candidate.  How can I make contact with them before the auction ends?

Please use the function within the candidates profile “Contact the Candidate” to send your message.

What happens if the winning bidder does not honour the BID?

Non-payment will result in the auction being re-run and your user privileges will be terminated or suspended permanently.

What happens if I win the bid but no longer wish to participate in the date?

Once you have made a bid.  You can not withdraw it.  You are committed to making your payment even if you are unable to go on the date with the candidate.

Do I have to pay even if I have not won the date?

If you are the winner and you have placed more than one bid in the auction you will only be expected to pay for the amount of the winning bid.

Is there a reserve bid amount for the person going up for auction?

Each candidate’s reserve may vary at the candidates own discretion.  There is a reserve for Celebrity Candidates the amount of the reserve will be £50.00 or such higher amounts that RDC or the celebrity may determine at their own discretion.  This reserve amount will be clearly indicated on the profile page.

How do I find out if I have won the date?

If you are the winning bidder RDC will notify you by email straight after the auction ends.  Alternatively you can login to your account and view “My Account” setting for more details.

Who is responsible for the costs of travel to and from the date?

Both the winner and the candidate are responsible for their own costs associated with travelling to the date.  Unless otherwise agreed between the Bidder and the Candidate and the end of the auction.

When RDC say that the bidder is reasonable for all reasonable costs associated with the date what is reasonable?

RDC has no jurisdiction with regards to the costs of the date.  We advise that the bidder contacts the candidate at the end of the auction with a suggested venue and location of the date.  Baring in mind the costs associated with such venue.  Both the bidder and the candidate will need to ensure that reasonable charges are discussed prior to engagement.

I have won a date with a celebrity.  Will photographers or press be present?

Yes.  At the discretion of the celebrity.  However please note that the celebrities will be in this auction to help with the publicity and awareness of the designated charities.

What details on my profile will be visible to others?

Only your basic information will be listed in your profile.  By Basic we mean:  Username, sex, body type, hair, eyes, height, age group, what you are seeking, occupation and your location.

All other information provided will be kept secure under the Data Protection and Privacy Policy Act 1998.

I no longer wish to be a member.  Can I pass on my membership to a third party?

Your membership is assigned to you and may not be assigned to any other third party.

Why am I not receiving Emails from Rent a Date for Charity?

It is possible that either your e-mail inbox was full at the time, or if you have a spam filter maybe the mail did get through but was blocked/deleted by the spam software.

Please ensure when registering that RDC is added to your safe senders list.

I have just become a member of Rent a Date for Charity but I have not received my password.

When you complete your registration you will automatically receive a welcome e-mail from us with your log in details, members e-mail providers like Hotmail, Yahoo and others can place our e-mail to the junk e-mail box or block us as spam mail, so please check your email account.

To keep Rent a Date for Charity e-mail in your Hotmail Inbox and out of your Hotmail Bulk folder:

1) Add www.rentadateforcharity.com to your Hotmail Address Book.
2) DO NOT click “Report Spam” for any email from Rent a Date for Charity.
3) Remove www.rentadateforcharity.com from your Bulk folder by clicking NOT JUNK

If all else fails then please email support@rentadateforcharity.com

How do I make any changes on my profile?

Once a candidate profile is listed you will only be able to edit the description and statistics within your profile providing no bids have taken place.  Once a bid has been placed you will not be able to amend any statistics.

We do not allow any of the pricing to be changed when a profile is uploaded therefore please ensure when listing that you have provided the correct financial details such as reserve, buy now etc.

How do I change my photo?

As long as your listing has not received any bids you may delete and replace your existing photo with no extra charge. Any additional photos may be chargeable.

How long does it take to get my photo/profile approved?

Your profile is automatically uploaded onto the auctions. However, RDC may at its sole discretion terminate your listing should your listing be unsuitable.

Why was my photo/profile declined?

Your images may be too large.  If this is the case the system will automatically notify you when uploading.  We may decline your profile for other reasons which are highlighted within the terms & conditions.  Photos must only contain images of you and show no nudity.  If your profile is declined a second time and you feel that there was nothing wrong with it, please contact us for a further explanation.  RDC reserves the right to decline with no explanation.

I can't seem to find many compatible members, why is that?

The site is constantly growing and changing, and new members do appear all the time. As it grows, we are able to spend more and more on advertising, thus bringing in even more new members. If there's no-one on the site that you want to bid on right now, we feel sure that you'll find new people online soon, so do keep trying!

Please keep in mind that you may list yourselves as many times as you like within the auctions FREE of charge.  You only pay for extra features such as extra photos or bold/featured listings.

How do I know where the candidate up for auction is willing to travel to when going on our date?

Under the profile details of the candidate their location will be visible.  This should give you a good indication as to where the candidate is willing to travel to.  If however it is not in your region and you still wish to bid for the candidate please email the candidate through our messaging system “contact seller” directly with your request.

What if the candidate I wish to bid on does not cover my area?

The candidate will specify the area they live on their profile.  If your local area is not covered within the candidates “City” it is possible they will not travel past this. However, you may contact the candidate through the messaging system with your request.  (NOTE if the candidate agrees you may be required to cover their travel expenses if outside of their specified “City” please be clear when contacting them your intentions for travel expenses).

How can I advertise on your site?

If you wish to advertise on the site please email admin@rentadateforfcharity.com with your request.

I would like to arrange an Event for Rent a Date for Charity how do I go about arranging this?

If you wish to hold a “Rent a Date for Charity” Event such as a live auction.  Then please email your proposals to admin@rentadateforcharity.com.

Why am I unable to give out my personal details via the RDC messaging service?

RDC has provided you with safety guidelines in respect of personal data.  It is strongly recommended that you do not give out your surname, address, telephone number or any other such personal details until you have met your bidder/candidate and you are confident in doing so.  RDC reserves the right to revoke your membership at any time should you be found to be giving out any of these personal details.

How do I pay?  Is it secure?

All payments are secure and made on-line.  RDC currently used PayPal as their holder of these funds.  For more information regarding PayPal and their security visit www.paypal.co.uk
I want to register but I do not have a PayPal account how do I make payment to you?
PayPal offers a FREE service to sign up and use.  However if you do not wish to sign up to PayPal’s service you may pay with a credit or debit card through PayPal.

I am the winning bidder in the auction and the candidate is refusing to go on the date with me.  Do I get my money back?

RDC is a charitable site.  We will do our utmost to ensure that the candidates registering are genuine and committed to the cause.  There will of course be occasions where refusals or reneges could occur, in which case the candidate’s account will be removed with immediate effect.  No monies are refundable.
