Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust (SDBTT) is the largest brain tumour charity in the UK, having already raised nearly £5 million for research projects throughout the country since their foundation in 1996. They provide support groups and individual support services for patients, carers, families and friends affected by brain tumours, and are involved with political lobbying and extensive PR work in order to raise awareness of the challenges that people face. However the need for research is urgent, as more children and young adults now die from brain tumours than from any other form of cancer, due to the lack of effective treatments for this devastating disease. Your help in supporting Rent a Date for Charity is highly valued as it will provide future funds for research, and bring us closer to finding that elusive cure. SDBTT will be choosing new research projects in 2008, and the number that can be supported will be directly affected by the money that can be raised; Thank you, therefore, for choosing to help. On Wednesday 14th May, we held an Open Day at our new offices so that supporters, new and old, could visit and meet staff. Champagne corks popped as guests celebrated the opening in Yateley, Hampshire. We moved to larger offices in February due to the demand of our work. Mary Fagan JP, Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire did the honours and cut the ribbon to officially open the Charity’s new premises. She said, “I have been watching the Charity grow over the years and am very impressed with the progress it has made. The Charity is making a vital contribution in funding research and supporting patients.” |
